After the steep initial claim the next 4 miles are fast, downhill and highly runnable, if a little muddy and uneven. Very steep descent at 7.5 miles. Fell shoes essential and not recommended for beginners. Soup and hot drinks available in village hall at end (well attended by runners). Excellent, well run event.
