This is quite a runnable,chilly, well attended (>130) and well flagged course with quite a few good fell runners in attendance (e.g. in 2008 there were 31 from Bingley!).

The first 1.25 miles is a gentle uphill path similar to Rooley Moor Road, though not as steep.  Then its right, over the stile
(no queue jumping!) and  across then down a grassy slope which I managed to gambole down.  There is a short climb, a road section then a steep climb.  Its then back across the moors and a fast sprint down that gentle 1.25 mile hill you ran up at the start.  The course is very well flagged.

In 2008 it was pretty cold and the muddy sections were frozen solid, making it firm under foot but quite ankle turny.  Trail shoes were fine, fell shoes not that comfortable given the frozen, hard surfaces.   The final section downhill is very fast and takes its toll on your joints.

There was plenty of parking at registration and loos in the pub.  Chip butties in the pub were an outrageous £2.50 with tea £1 per cup.

Very enjoyable event.
