In 2015 the men's course consisted of 1.5 small laps around the field (see below) then three long laps.  The course is essentially flat with only a short muddy section, a bit like Clayton Vale only flatter.  Despite lots of rain the grassy fields remained firm under foot.  This makes it a really fast race.

The Leigh Harriers HQ has got to be one of the poshest around.  I heard they pay only around £6K pa for it.  They have an indoor 60m straight track, a top quality outdoor track and a bowling-green lawn footbal pitch in the middle.

When going there, ignore your sat nav when you are near and follow the brown local signs instead.  Also be careful of the 60mph speed cameras on the East Lancs road.  Loads of parking.

The shower facilities were superb, as was the meat and potato pie and red cabbage afterwards (I won't mention the mushy peas, whoops I just did).

The results were already on-line when I checked a couple of hours after the race.
