This was my first time running in the GMAA XC championships.
The facilities at the venue, Woodbank Park, were excellent. Hosted by Stockport Harriers, they have a small cafe at the track which serves hot drinks, snacks etc. There are changing facilities which can best be described as a 'plastic portacabin'. These house toilets and really good showers (hot and plenty of water).
The course itself is great, with a long descent and long ascent on each lap, mud, puddly fields and generally what you expect from a proper XC course. The end is on the flat with a great sprintable finish.
The car park can be a bit tricky to find if you don't know where it is. We found a space straight away. Attendance was not that high, considering its Greater Manchester.
Men run 1 short and 3 long laps. I think ladies did 1 fewer long lap.
Results out 30 hours after the race.
