Attractive BM out and back course starting from the lovely village of Tintwistle.  Registration is at the aptly named Bull's Head (78 Old Road , SK13 1JY).  The bar is like something from a film set, with a real, huge Bull's Head on a wooden board above a massive stone fireplace.   Antiques road show could fill a whole series with the stuff in this pub.

The course is largely trail and runnable except for a few short steep parts. It follows part of the Pennine Bridleway. These runnable courses are hard work - no excuse for walking.

There were good toilet facilities, drinks at the end and they were all a very friendly lot. Only about 44 entered in 2007 (a similar number to last year) which is a bit of a shame because it is a lovely course with great views. Unfortunately the day before its XC and the Autumn Leaves fell race with free cake.  If this race was moved to another date I bet there would be double that number.
