This is the re-named and spring version of the Autumn Leaves fell race.

Leave plenty of time to find the start at Kiln Green Church (Sat Nav: Lee side, Diggle or OL3 5JY).  The scenic course is fast, technically easy and is essentially a trail race with fell race-sized climbs.  Most of the paths and gradients are runnable, even for a mid-packer.  The going is good under foot for most of the route.  Note there is a strict bum bag check before you are allowed to the start to ensure you are carrying all the necessary safety gear (map, compass, full body cover etc.). There were some maps available at the start.

Plenty of toilets at registration and, the star attraction of this event, a cake competition plus all the free cake you can eat!  Also free tea and coffee, just make a donation which goes to charity.  Well attended prize giving for the race and light hearted cake competition.  153 starters in 2012, which is probably just about the limit for the venue.

Well organised, well flagged course, well marshalled and a warm atmosphere.  Efficient prize giving.   I'll definitely be doing this lovely course again. Results
