Brown Wardle Hill Fell race

Organised by Andy O'Sullivan MBEThis is usually a charity event to raise money for cancer research.  Typically about 70 take part in the main race with a broad range of abilities from newbies to really good runners.  Also there is a fun run.

From Rochdale centre take the Whitworth Road (A671), straight on at the Hospital roundabout (not left to hospital) until you get to the Oxford pub.

The race starts with a steep climb up a tarmac road, then a trippy rough path up to the moor.  From the moor its a steep 'thumbs on thighs' walk up the steep face of Brown Wardle.   The descent is a little tricky, then its a good 1.5 miles flat/slightly downhill.  There is a small climb near the end, over the trippy rough stuff, then a steep tarmac path down.

Andy puts on an extensive prize list (T shirts, wine, and lots and lots of steak knives for some reason?).
